Pride and Prejudice... and Zombies?!?
This book jumped off the shelf to me. It spoke to me, stating "Take me home I will not disappoint you". I know creepy right. Anyway so began the perfect marriage of Horror and Timeless Classic that I know hope will be the newest trend. It combines my two favorite things. Horror and Classics! Yes I know there are plenty of Horror Classics. But how many ways have we all seen Pride and Prejudice. From Productions that stay true to the classic tale , to Modern Adaptations like Bridget Jones. Any way you slice it, the Story is one that you can see over and over again. And I can't tell you how excited I am at the prospect of seeing this version on screen. ( By the way I'd be more than happy to play Elizabeth Bennet!) Oddly the adding of Zombies didn't take away from the story. But instead added a strong back story on why the Bennet Woman are so strong willed and different. I really enjoyed this book, and really was disappointed in it being over. I wanted more even though I know the story and it had to end. Alas I must find another book to Entertain me.
Borderland
Ok!!! I love this movie, and hate it. It takes alot to make me feel uncomfortable. ( Well thats not exactly true, kill an animal or cut an achilles and I feel like I want to die) But this movie, made my partner in crime so uncomfortable that they actually turned to me and said I don't know if I can watch this. And this from seasoned Gore Hound!!! It could be the fact that its so close to what really is and has happened with Santeria Cults. Or it could be that seeing Rider Strong in this compelling performance brings back flash backs of the joys of watching Boy Meets World. And than seeing his scenes... well let's just say it tears at your heart a little bit. Either way finally an effective horror movie. Its a definite Classic, and is for sure being added to my Horror Vault!
