Deadline... more like dead wrong

Deadline... more like dead wrong
With all the names in this movie it should be a slam dunk. But ... how shall I put this, its deadly wrong. The story is never quite sure where its going, even though you know from the moment it began where it would lead. And the talent seems to be wasted with an obscure storyline, that actually has potential, but some how falls very very flat. Brittany Murphy, I'm truly sorry for your tragic death, and with controversy surrounding the ads for this movie, it will have an audience. But would I recommend it. Only on free cable, on a sick day, in middle of the day.

On a side note:
Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman is an amazing series so far. I have only read the first one. But I have been drawn into their soap opera with Zombies story line. And I am excited to read the next one. More on this series in future postings!

Legion, Really?

I left the theatre saying," Really? Really?" Despite the awe inspiring trailer, the hype is well, way too much for the actual movie. They took a great concept and simply spilled its potential on the ground. The acting is horrendous, despite Paul Bettany's attempt at making the dialogue even vaguely decent. But no delivery could save the predictable and all out laugh out loud dialogue. No this movie is not a comedy, but the people in my theatre were laughing at moments like this charming moment when Tyrese stated, " When I was a little shortie!" This movie had so much potential, and it makes me so upset to see such a great plot wasted on such a horrible script. And please do not let Lucas Black act in anything above Fast and the Furious status, his character seriously needs to be smacked in the face, as does the pregnant smoking mom played by Adrianne Palicke. And the love plot, seriously? So I guess you know how I feel about this movie. And should the sequel happen, I will not be going to see it, unless Paul Bettany is topless for at least a minute!

Daybreakers fluff compared to Sherlock Holmes

I was very excited for Daybreakers. A new ground breaking concept in the vampire genre, well that sounds like something I can jump on board for. But unfortunately I got a pretty typical vampire film. Now this is not a bad thing. Its not a bad flick. Not at all. But I have to say it makes me a little upset that such a great concept falls flat. They do not use the story lines that they provide to their full potential. Also they do not use the actors to their full potential. And I can't tell you how bored I am with these spineless gloomy guys roaming around ( sorry Edward Cullen seems to be a trend in everything now!) Ethan Hawke, whom I love, disappoints by being so non existent, and he seriously has never heard of the Bros before Hoes motto. But still it has some good kills. And despite wasting, in my opinion a really good character that had soooo much potential and wasn't hard on the eyes either. Its still worth viewing. And the sequel , if there is one will no doubt will be kick ass, or we could hope.

On the other hand Sherlock Holmes rocked my world. I love Guy Ricthie! His humor just gets me. But besides that. The fight scenes in this film are amazing. The way he describes exactly what ribs and tissue to break on each individual. How he picks up his opponents weaknesses just by looking at them. Well lets just say , major swoonage going on. What can I say? I'm a girl who knows what she likes!
